Prerequisites
Congratulation on your decsion to learn to SCUBA dive. While snorkeling provides a view into the oceans, SCUBA is the tool that allows us to experince the excitement and satisfaction of seeing this hidden part of our world first hand.

Before enrolling in a course however, there are some things that you need to know about SCUBA diving and your training.

  • Awareness of Risks - You've probably heard about some of the problems that divers can experience. Here are the details.

  • Medical Screening or approval - There are a few conditions that, when combined with breathing compressed air underwater, can cause problems for a diver.

  • Awareness of Costs - Your instructor will provide information about the costs for your course. Here are some guidelines for what it will cost to buy equipment and go diving after your course.

  • Swimming Skills - It is important that you have good basic swimming skills and be confortable in the water. Make sure you can pass these swimming entry requirements for your course.

  • Full Attendance - Plan to attend all scheduled class sessions.
