Prerequisites

Congratulation on your decsion to learn to SCUBA dive. While snorkeling provides a view into the oceans, SCUBA is the tool that allows us to experince the excitement and satisfaction of seeing this hidden part of our world first hand.
Before enrolling in a course however, there are some things that you need to know about SCUBA diving and your training.

Awareness of Risks - You've probably heard about some of the problems that divers can experience. Here are the details.
Medical Screening or approval - There are a few conditions that, when combined with breathing compressed air underwater, can cause problems for a diver.
Awareness of Costs - Your instructor will provide information about the costs for your course. Here are some guidelines for what it will cost to buy equipment and go diving after your course.
Swimming Skills - It is important that you have good basic swimming skills and be confortable in the water. Make sure you can pass these swimming entry requirements for your course.
Full Attendance - Plan to attend all scheduled class sessions.
