     Mon Valley Divers is a volunteer water rescue and recovery team based out of the Rostraver - West Newton Ambulance Service in South-western Pennsylvania.  The team consists of divers from all walks of life.  We accept civilians, police officers, volunteer fire fighters and ambulance personnel.

     Any healthy, active individual can be a member of our organization.  We have many non divers and beginning divers that are utilized in Surface Support rolls.
The active rescue diver on our team must be certified to at least Open Water II and Rescue Certification from a recognized training agency.  This diver must also have there own scuba equipment.  We encourage continuing education and have members with advanced training and numerous specialties.

     Since our charter started in 1991, we have respond to a multitude of events.  Mon Valley Divers responds to rescue and recoveries, small boat accidents, boat and car recoveries, Weapon and Evidence recovery.  We dive for local and State Police, Fire Departments, Civilian Calls and Mutual Aid for other Dive Teams.
